"First and foremost, WOW! What an amazing experience in such a short amount of time. Phil's clinic left us wanting more. We came away better horseman AND even better, our horses came away more complete, collected and residual per his training applications. The techniques applied and taught by Phil were easy to understand and communicated by him in such an easy, flowing manner, that both horse and rider were able to complete without frustration or breakdown, which only solidifies Phil’s ability as a trainer and instructor. Phil is down to earth, easy to talk to, communicates effectively, is hands on, genuine to the salt of the earth and always was available by phone if we ever had questions after the clinic. We were so impressed and inspired. Life is short, and Phil is one of those rare horseman you should meet in this lifetime."

"I have been riding behind Phil Haugen since 2004. Phil has a great understanding of a horse, especially a young one. I attribute a lot of my success, with several of my horses, to Phil. Runnin Red Lites, Fantasia Fame, Chargen Ta Fame, VF Blazin Lites, and Famous China Doll are just a few of the horses that I have had success on, that have been through Phil’s program. He makes sure the horses get the foundation they need and are ready, shortly after I get them from him, to start on the barrel pattern. I know the horses will come to me knowing the skills that are key to starting, running, and making a lasting, winning barrel horse!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is this course made for beginner and/or advanced riders?

A: The majority of this training series is focused on teaching the Level 1, 2 & 3 exercises that are the foundation of my training program that has produced over $1M in Equistat earnings. These are the exercises I use on a daily basis to train the horses at my facility from starting colts to conditioning seasoned horses. Since the video lessons are self-paced, students from novice and to advanced levels can work through the 3 levels at their own speed. The exercises in each level lead into the next level, providing a strong foundation for high performance in any discipline.

Q: I've already been to one of your clinics. Will this program help me?

A: Yes! This program will be a great tool for you to reinforce the fundamentals you learned at the clinic and refer back to each one of those exercises at your own pace. Plus, you'll get a chance to interact with our entire online community of students, share your experiences, and ask me specific questions during our Group Coaching Calls.

Q: I'm already registered for one of your clinics this year. Do I need this program?

A: For those of you who are already registered for one of our clinics later this year, this will be a great opportunity for you to get a head start and get an introduction to the material that I’ll be teaching at the clinic. Once you understand some of those fundamentals, it is really going to allow you to progress even faster once you get to the clinic.

Q: How long will I have access to the training program?

A: Once you join the Foundation to Finish Training Community, you will have lifetime access to the program! Keep your login information handy, and you'll be able to access this program and any new content we upload in the future.

Q: What if I am unsatisfied with the program?

A: After you have completed all of the lessons in this course, if you don’t feel like you got at least a 100% return on your investment, you can just email me and I’ll return your tuition. That’s how confident I am that it will change your horse training experience dramatically and reduce a ton of frustration for you and your horse.

Q: Can I access the videos on a mobile device?

A: Yes!

Q: How long will it take me to finish the program?

A: Each of the 30+ video lessons are approximately 10-15 minutes in length, and a handful of lessons will include an extra 5-10 minute activity to complete in the Foundations Workbook. If you join our 4-Week Training Series, you'll also want to reserve an extra hour or so each week for our Group Coaching Call. The program is designed to allow you to progress at your own pace, and you can refer back to each lesson as often as you need to.

Q: What will the Live Q&A Coaching Calls cover?

A: During our 4-Week Training Series, our weekly coaching calls will cover questions and content from the previous module (i.e. Coaching Call #1 will cover lessons in Level 1). If you are unable to attend a Live Coaching Call session, a replay will be available and uploaded to the course under the "Coaching Call Replays" section.

Q: How do I join the Coaching Calls?

A: Our group coaching calls will be held using the free video conferencing platform, Zoom. If you already have an account, just click the link provided in the "Coaching Call" section of each module. If this is your first time to use Zoom, setting up an account is quick and easy. Just follow the on-screen prompts, and you'll be ready to join the call! Within the Coaching Calls, you will be able to chat and ask questions, as well as hear feedback from other students in the program. Video is not required, and you can shut this feature off using the button on your screen if you prefer to join with an audio-only call.

Q: How is this course different from your Foundation to Finish training DVD?

A: The Foundation to Finish Online Training Program is much more interactive than the traditional DVD series. In addition to the Level 1, 2 & 3 video lessons, you'll receive our 15+ page Foundations Workbook to help you set goals, evaluate your progress, and implement each exercise in your own training program. In addition, I'll be hosting Weekly Group Coaching Calls to answer any questions you may have and provide feedback on your training journey, similar to the experience my students have during a clinic. The video lessons featured in this course are the core of my Foundation to Finish Training DVD series; however, the Level 1, 2 & 3 exercises have been enhanced and modified for easy access anytime, anywhere from your desktop or mobile device. In this program, you will be able to quickly search through the course to find the specific exercises you are needing without having to plug-and-play a traditional DVD. Plus, we've added some special Bonus Training Content that cannot be found on our traditional DVD series!

Q: What's the difference between the 4-Week Training Series and the Self-Paced Program?

A: Both programs are "self-paced," in a sense; however, the 4-Week Training Series includes much more interaction with Phil Haugen, similar to an in-person clinic experience. The Self-Paced Course includes 30+ video lessons and our Foundations Workbook, while the 4-Week Training Series includes these materials plus weekly 1-hour Group Coaching Calls with Phil and access to our VIP Online Training Community where students can interact, share their questions and videos, and learn from others' experiences. After the 4 Coaching Call sessions are complete, students can progress through the remainder of the course at their own pace.

Meet Your Clinician

Phil’s philosophy is to train through understanding, and that starts with a simple, common sense approach. Building a solid foundation to help each horse reach its full potential by focusing on effective and proven techniques that help horses tounderstand the response you are asking for, which in turn builds their confidence and yields success.

This approach has resulted in more than $1,000,000 in Equistat earnings, won by the horses that have been a part of the Phil Haugen Horsemanship program. These horses are not limited by discipline or age and have excelled in major barrel racing events, tie-down roping, futurities, derbies and WNFR qualifications. Confident, meaningful communication, and proper horsemanship can allow any horse and rider the opportunity to achieve their optimal individual potential.
